Policy
The Minerals and Metals Sector is the federal government's primary source of scientific and technological knowledge and policy advice on Canada's mineral and metal resources. At the federal level, the Sector promotes the sustainable development and use of Canada's mineral and metal resources. The Sector also develops policies and provides technical knowledge and advice to governments, industry and Canadians nationally and internationally.
MMS works with other federal departments and agencies to ensure that federal policies and strategies that have an impact on the minerals and metals industry are consistent with sustainable minerals development and use in Canada and around the world.
