Canada’s Mineral Trade Reduced by Recession in 2009
Mineral production and trade respond to trends in the broader economy. The March 2010 Mineral Production Information Bulletin noted that the recession of 2008/09 had significantly reduced Canada’s mineral production. Reduced demand led to reduced prices for mineral products.
Canadian Patent for Biosensor Issued to NRCan team – NEW!
Five Natural Resources Canada employees have received a Canadian patent for an online sensor that can be used to monitor simultaneously the activity of sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and the rate of corrosion. The U.S. patent application was granted to the team in 2010.
